Authentic beats perfect every time
One of the biggest worries organisations have when creating a program promotional video is sounding too scripted or “salesy.”
But good news! A great script doesn’t need to feel scripted at all.
At Greater Visuals, we help programs across Sydney, Parramatta and Regional NSW develop scripts that feel natural, human and real.
Here’s how you can do the same.
1. Start with the why
Before planning your video, answer:
- Why does this program exist?
- Who does it help?
- What impact does it make?
Your “why” becomes the emotional heartbeat of your script.
2. Write in plain, friendly language
Avoid jargon like:
- “stakeholder engagement”
- “multidisciplinary outcomes”
- “empowerment pathways”
Instead use:
- “We help young people build confidence.”
- “Our program supports families.”
- “You’ll learn skills you can use straight away.”
Speak the same way your audience speaks.
3. Use participant quotes, even unscripted ones
Real voices = real authenticity.
You don’t need participants to memorise anything. Just ask them open questions like:
- “What made you join the program?”
- “How has this helped you so far?”
- “What would you say to someone thinking about signing up?”
4. Show more than you tell
Instead of only listing features, show:
- Group activities
- Mentorship moments
- Community events
- Real sessions in action
- Smiles, energy, teamwork
5. Keep it short
The sweet spot for program promotional videos is 60-90 seconds.
Shorter = more engagement.
Greater Visuals: scripting and storytelling done right
We blend structured scripting with natural conversations to create promo videos that feel both polished and real.
